Lena: Assistant House Leader, Joyful House
Lena originally joined our L’Arche Community in the Summer of 2018. After a year of serving our community, Lena decided to explore other L’Arche locations. She ended up spending a year in L’Arche Chicago but in the summer of 2020 decided to rejoin our community where she became Assistant House Leader. Here is what Lena has to say about L’Arche:
“L'Arche is incredibly unique for a lot of reasons, but especially for its welcoming atmosphere for all talents and skills. L'Arche reflects the people that live and work here! I've been able to exercise my creative side by writing music with core members, participating in leading a theater program, and cooking new recipes for the house. There's also technical skills- such as learning how to help run a house smoothly! It takes a lot of different people with different gifts to make up a community.”
