Edward in the Office… with Meghan!
At L’Arche St. Louis, our office team is made up of folks focused on programs, operations, finances, development, HR, outreach, and everything in between. This year, Edward’s been sitting down with each team member to find out how they all work to support our mission of inclusion and belonging as well as learning some fun facts!
Today, the spotlight is on our HR and Development Assistant, Meghan. Here’s what Edward found out!
Edward: What do you do at L’Arche St. Louis?
Meghan: I am the HR Assistant, and I help with the development team. Primarily, what I do is payroll entry and lead a lot of the recruitment and training. I also do some grant writing.
Edward: What is one of your favorite memories from working at L’Arche?
Meghan: A favorite memory I have is a Christmas morning when I lived at Sunrise House. I remember getting up, making coffee, and getting to hang out in the living room while people opened presents and had breakfast. It was so cozy, loving, and family-like; I’ll always hold that memory fondly.
Edward: What do you like to do in your free time?
Meghan: I like to go to the gym, run, read, go for walks, and cook. I cook too much food on purpose so I can freeze and save it for later. When I am hanging out with my friends, we like to watch movies or sit at cafes and do our separate tasks while drinking coffee and chatting.
Edward: If you could have any animal in the world to be your pet, what animal would you choose and why?
Meghan: I would love to have a pet crow. They are super smart and can solve puzzles and be taught tricks. I would teach it to bring me little treasures and sit on my shoulder.
